Lake Elsinore Pest Control

A Place to Dream Extreme

If you are looking for an extreme adventure, look no further than Lake Elsinore, CA. At the shores of the largest natural lake in Southern California, the city of Lake Elsinore is a haven for tourism and recreation. The lake provides a place to boat, wakeboard, fish, and waterski, while the nearby mountains cater to hiking, mountain biking, bird-watching, and camping. Lake Elsinore is also world-famous for its warm thermal winds that make aerial sports like skydiving and hang-gliding popular.

The area that is now the city of Lake Elsinore was originally home to Native Americans known as the Luiseño people. Pictographs can be found on rocks throughout the Santa Ana and Temescal valleys. In the mid 1800’s, the lake provided an important place for explorers, trappers, and ranchers to water their animals, and it soon became a stop on the Butterfield Overland Trail. In the latter half of the 19th century, it became a stop on the California Southern Railroad and became an incorporated city on April 9, 1888. It was the 73rd city in the new state of California. The name “Elsinore” was given by Margaret Graham Collier, one of the city’s founders, after the Danish City in Shakespeare’s Hamlet.

In its early days, Lake Elsinore was a small lakeside town whose economy was mainly based on tourism for the rich and famous, coal and clay mining, and agriculture that featured fruit and nuts. Today Lake Elsinore is a vibrant bedroom community that consists mostly of upper middle-class professionals, but tourism still remains at the heart of the city.

Pests in Lake Elsinore

The geography of the area varies widely, and there is still plenty of rural areas mixed with urban environments. The year round temperate weather and plentiful outdoor space that makes Lake Elsinore so appealing to residents also makes the area appealing to pests. The mountains, hills, and lake are all home to bugs, insects, and rodents, and residents will surely encounter these pests in their yards and homes. Mosquitos, spiders, flies, ants, fleas, and ticks that naturally live in the area can be nuisances for homeowners. Since winter temperatures rarely get below freezing, bugs are common year round, and the hot, arid summers actually cause rapid development and increased reproduction in many of these insects. Rodents, including mice and rats, can also be real problems because of the large open spaces and rural areas that still exist. Luckily, you can enjoy the beautiful city of Lake Elsinore without having to share your home with pests.
